CZARNOBYL ZDROJ
Partyzancka Polska Młodzież (LP)
Pasażer Records - 13 €
Punk rock from the provincial south-eastern part of Poland, recorded toward the end of communist rule, and previously released in 1989 on cassette tape. Years later, the vinyl re-release appears. Czarnobyl Zdrój is melodic and violent punk, somewhat similar to the style of the 2nd wave British punk of Anti-Pasti or the Partisans meeting the Ramones, with bratty, nihilistic lyrics.
It’s for this kind of music that pogo was invented. The booklet includes a lot of photos from the period when the band first emerged. Punks used to look much different back then!
